The Read & Walk Signs compared to other StoryWalk Frames

Pro’s and Cons of other StoryWalk© Signs and Frames

Pros:

  • Waterproof Viewing Window (no lamination needed)

  • Easy to change out (only takes seconds to change books out, not hours)

  • Scratch and graffiti resistant (just buff out the sign if needed)

  • Little maintenance needed (just wipe clean, no edges, no gunk)

  • Won’t fade over time

  • Can fit most book page sizes

  • Fully Customizable panel

  • No warping or yellowing over time

  • No replacement fees (signs are built to last for 10+ years!)

  • No tools required

  • Lockable

  • No edges to collect water or debris, just wipe clean

Cons:

  • More upfront costs

  • 17” x 11” viewing window fits less books than the 18” x 24” storywalk frames

Pro’s and Cons of other StoryWalk Signs and Frames

Pros:

  • Less costs up front

  • Option to change out “backer panels” seasonally

  • Can fit a lot of book page sizes

Cons:

  • Clear Acrylic piece often yellows and warps needing replaced often

  • Frames have edges that trap gunk and water

  • Takes longer to change out book pages

  • Often water-resistant, not waterproof (Book pages need laminated to prevent water damage)

  • Tools are required to change out signs

  • Signs are not lockable (anyone with a screwdriver could steal contents)

  • Backer panels often need replaced due to water damage

  • Signs fog up and collect moisture

  • More long term costs

Large 17”x11” Window fits most children’s books
